Happy 40th Anniversary to Us!

This coming Monday marks 40 years since I married the man of my dreams.  A lifetime ago and yet it seems like just yesterday.  There aren’t enough words in any language to describe how grateful, happy and joyous I feel.  We married very young, yes, but somehow, we’ve managed to grow, sometimes apart, but mostly together.  People often ask us what our secret is to staying together.  Honestly, there’s no secret.  I believe at our core we are a good match, and thankfully, we’ve been determined enough to persevere through life’s challenges.  At times it didn’t feel like we’d make it, but in my heart, I just knew this was the person for me and the life for me.  Plus, neither of us likes to walk away from situations just because things get hard.  And, finally, we love each other fiercely, completely and deeply.  And as the years pass, we love each other more.  The tough times have bonded us as much as the good, and though we know there is so much ahead, we have the strength and resources to keep on going.

For the next couple of weeks, we will be vacationing with our children in the place we honeymooned, Kauai, Hawaii.  We could think of no better way to celebrate this milestone than with the people who mean the most to us and who bring us the most joy.  So, this blog will also be on vacation and will resume July 26th.  In the meantime, I encourage you all to celebrate the love in your life, to find gratitude for all you have experienced and to look to the future with happy anticipation.
